No fucking idea
I came across a photo while going through Mum's paperwork. I can see I’m in it, but I have no idea when it was taken or where (likely in the Golan Heights because that's where I was in 75/76).
I don't recognise any of the other people in it. Yes, I know it's been 50 years, but one would expect that I'd at least recognise some of the faces or remember why the photo was taken. The rest of them are wearing white shoulder strap tags indicating they were in training, and they look older, so they must be reservists. NFI. I can’t remember training reservists, only my own squad.
I’ve sent messages to teammates over there, but I’m not all that popular for obvious reasons, so I doubt I’ll be inundated with replies. My noggin is deteriorating quicker than expected. Humans are not meant to live this long. Sadly I’ll not be able to afford the wonderful aged care Mum is getting, but I’m glad she’s well taken care of. Don’t know what you can get on a pension these days.
And yes, I am the only white guy in the photo - not a Semite.
To ensure I’m able to keep sharing my thoughts as clearly as possible despite my gradual cognitive decline, I’ve started relying on Grammarly to polish sentence structure, improve clarity and conciseness (helping rein in my tendency to ramble a bit), suggest words when they slip my mind, and ensure each post stays true to my own natural tone and voice. I write it, Grammarly fixes it. Respect for the reader.
